Our oven is still broken. I didn't realize how many meals I make that require the oven. I am starting to crave things like baked chicken, pizza, meat pie, roasted potatoes... And cookies. Oddly enough, I didn't crave cookies when I could have cookies but now that I can't have fresh, homemade cookies I desperately want them.
Our landlords have offered us the use of their oven if we need it. I wouldn't classify cravings as having a need for their oven so of course I'm not going to ask for it. Actually, while it's a nice offer it's totally impractical and I have a feeling they are aware I won't be coming over. I mean, really, what am I going to do? Go over there to make our dinner and then bring it back to our house? And spend an hour or more trying to have a conversation with people who are nice but, in all actuality, are not my friends? No thanks.
And so we're waiting. There's a good chance that tomorrow the part will come in and it'll get fixed. Maybe it'll even be fixed in time for dinner. That would be nice. If not... Maybe it'll be fixed on Friday? It'd better not be as late as Saturday. As pathetic as it sounds, we're kinda running out if dinner ideas.
