Our Second Independence Day Celebration

Last night Branden's friend, Matt, invited us to a cook-out. Matt's friends were out of town last weekend so they decided to celebrate Independence Day a week late. So more fireworks for us! Yay!

Branden talked me in to making my mixed berry pie- I don't like berry desserts, but this pie is one of his favorites. Unfortunately, our oven in this apt is WAY off and bakes hotter than it should. We bought an oven thermometer today but that didn't keep yesterday's pie from ending up extra crispy. I was disappointed and didn't want to take the pie, but Branden insisted and everyone loved it.

Matt's friends are French and Indian War buffs. They make their own thread, weave their own fabric, dye it, and create their own period costumes then go out and re-enact battles. And they have a cannon which is AWESOME... And they shot it for us. They even let Branden light the fuse the last time. He was SO happy. Unfortunately, we didn't bring the camera, AGAIN, but Matt took a video with his phone so I may have something to post in the future. We'll see if I can get it.

All-in-all, a great evening and Branden shot a cannon. :)
